The Blue-crowned Motmot is an elegant rainforest dweller
found in Central and South America. Unlike the Turquoise-browed Motmot, the Blue-crowned hunts in the darkest, and densest corners of the jungle. Therefore, they are often overlooked. They are larger than the Turquoise-browed Motmot and their shafts are not featherless. We found this fellow right outside of the Monteverde preserve swinging his tail like a pendulum. Motmots are often called clock birds for this reason.
